Terms of use

Version 1.16

Effective date: 30 October 2026

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and YogaGuide.us. Please read them. If you post a listing, you are asked to tick a box confirming you accept them. If you sign in for class bookings, a teacher schedule or the study guide, you accept them on the email verification page. We record that acceptance.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

yogaguide.us (the "Service", "the site", "we", "us", "our") is operated by:

YogaGuide.us
200 Main Street
Verona, MS 38879
United States of America

Email: connect@yogaguide.us

There is no phone line. Email is the way to reach us, and we read it.

2. The short version

This summary is here to help you. It is not part of the agreement, and if it differs from the detailed sections below, the detailed sections win.

3. Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms when you do any of the following:

When you tick the acceptance box on the post form, we record the date and time, the version number of these Terms as they stood at that moment, and the IP address the submission came from. We keep that record so that both of us know what was agreed and when. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy explains what we do with it.

For a class account, requesting a sign-in email does not create an acceptance record. After you use the link and choose to sign in and accept, we record your verified email address, account identifier, date and time, IP address, the versions of both policies and the wording shown. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing.

If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Service.

If you are posting on behalf of a business, studio, school, employer or anyone else, you confirm you have authority to bind them, and "you" in these Terms means both you and them.

4. Who may use the Service

You may use the Service only if you are 18 years old or older, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, if that age is higher than 18.

The Service is not for children. Do not use it if you are under 18. Do not post a listing for or about a child, and do not include a child's name, photograph or contact details.

You must also not use the Service if we have previously blocked you or removed your listings, unless we have agreed in writing that you may return.

5. What the Service is

yogaguide.us is a free classifieds site for yoga, organized by city, in seven sections:

  1. Teachers
  2. Studios
  3. Gear (buy and sell)
  4. Classes & events
  5. Retreats & trainings
  6. Jobs
  7. Community

We cover 321 cities in the United States and 279 cities in 71 other countries. That means the people using this site are all over the world, and so is the content.

The Service is free. There is nothing to buy from us. No payment passes through the site. There is no shopping cart, no checkout, no escrow, no deposit facility and no payment processor.

You can browse and post classified listings without an account. Class reservations, teacher schedules and the study guide use an account verified through an email sign-in link. Students, teachers and learners do not create a password.

There are no reviews, ratings, star scores or comments. The Service has no such feature, so you will not find that kind of signal here — and you should not treat the absence of complaints about a listing as a good sign.

Class schedules and reservations

Yoga Guide provides free scheduling and reservation tools. Teachers are responsible for their classes, locations, descriptions, prices and any cancellation policy. A reservation saves a place; it does not process a payment. Reserve first: a teacher's payment link is shown only after your place is confirmed. Any payment or refund is arranged directly with the teacher, on their own external service. A teacher can keep a record of class passes their students buy from them; that record is the teacher's own. It is not a voucher, gift card or credit from us, we don't guarantee or honor passes, and any question about a pass, what it covers or what happens when a class is canceled, is between you and your teacher. A teacher can also list their prices and keep a record of what you have paid them. Their prices are theirs to set and honor, and their record is their own note: it isn't a receipt, invoice or proof of payment from us, and any question about a price or a payment is between you and your teacher.

A teacher can ask you to agree to their own waiver before you book with them. The waiver is between you and that teacher: we show it, ask you to agree and keep a record that you did, but we don't write it, check it or enforce it, and we are not a party to it. Teachers: a waiver you use is your own, and we can't advise on whether it holds up. Don't use it to collect health information.

Teachers can also offer times for private sessions. Asking for one is a request: it becomes a session only when the teacher confirms it, and either of you can cancel it before it starts. Like a class, a private session is between you and the teacher: its price, payment and any cancellation terms are theirs, and nothing is paid through this site.

A teacher can set a cancellation policy: how long before a class or private session you should cancel. It is shown when you book, and your booking keeps the policy shown then (for booking every session, the policy shown when you chose it). A spot that becomes yours inside the window without your choosing the time, such as one from the waitlist, isn't held to it, and neither is a class the teacher moves into it. You can still cancel later, but the cancellation is marked as late, and if the teacher's policy says so, a late cancellation uses a class from a class pass you have with them. The teacher can also mark a booking as a no-show. Anything else a teacher's policy says, such as a fee, is between you and the teacher; nothing is charged through this site.

Teachers can show their upcoming classes on their own website with the code on their teacher dashboard. It shows their next classes from their schedule page, booking happens on this site, and these Terms apply to it as they do to the rest of the site. Use it only for your own classes, on a website you run.

Teachers should keep schedules current and use the cancellation tools when a class cannot go ahead. Students should cancel a reservation when they cannot attend, so the next person waiting can have the spot. We send class notices to the verified email address on the account, but cannot guarantee delivery to an inbox. Check your bookings before traveling.

Teachers can see, copy and download the names and email addresses of the students who book their classes, of the people who follow them, and of the people who ask them for a private session. Use students' details to run their classes: changes, reminders, what to bring, a note after class. Send news about your other classes and events only to people who follow you or asked for your news when they booked or in My bookings (your My students list shows who), and stop as soon as anyone asks you to. Share your follow link freely, but don't sign anyone up yourself: people follow you by choosing to. Never sell or share student details, add students to anyone else's list, or share attendance publicly. Keep private online joining links to yourself.

Feedback after class. For a week after a class you booked, you can tell the teacher how it went. It goes to that teacher only, with your name; it is not a public review. Keep it honest and respectful: the rules for content and conduct in section 12 apply to it, as to anything else you write here. You can remove yours at any time in My bookings. A teacher can stop asking for feedback, and a teacher who blocks a student from their classes also stops that student's feedback. Teachers: what students tell you is for you. Don't publish it, or pass it on with the student's name, without their permission.

When a class is full, students can join its waitlist. If a spot opens before the waitlist closes, 2 hours before the class starts, we book it for the first person waiting and email them the details. That booking works like any other, and you can cancel it in My bookings. A place on a waitlist is not a reservation, and we cannot promise a spot will open. Teachers can see who is waiting for their classes, and the rules above for students' names and email addresses apply to them too.

Class recordings. After a class has started, its teacher can share a link to a recording of it, for the students booked into that class or for anyone. Yoga Guide does not record classes or keep videos: the link leads to wherever the teacher keeps the video, under that service's terms. A teacher who shares a recording is responsible for it. Share one only if you have the right to, and only if everyone who can be seen or heard in it has agreed, with no identifiable children. A recording meant for the students booked into a class is for them alone: students, please don't pass its link on. We may remove a link that breaks these rules or section 12. If you would rather not appear in a recording, tell your teacher before class.

Profile photos. A teacher can add a photo of themselves and up to six more photos to their schedule page, where anyone can see them. A student can add one photo of themselves, which only the teachers they book with can see. Photos are optional, and you can remove them at any time. They are Your Content under section 14 and follow the rules in section 12: a student's photo is of the student, and a teacher's photos show only people who have agreed to be on a public page, and no identifiable children. We may remove a photo that breaks those rules.

Following a teacher. Anyone with an account can follow a teacher, from the teacher's page, from a follow link the teacher shares, or with the box when booking one of their classes. It is off unless you choose it. A follower gets an email from us when the teacher adds new classes, at most once a day, and the teacher sees them in My students and may send them news about their classes and events, under the rules above. You can unfollow at any time in My bookings or from the link in any of those emails, and unfollowing also ends their news. A teacher who blocks you from their classes also ends your follow. A teacher emails you from their own address, not through us, and may keep their own copy of your details; if you want them to stop, tell them, and let us know if they don't.

Learn

Learn is an āsana study guide: a free course in the yoga postures (āsanas) as B.K.S. Iyengar teaches them: their Sanskrit names, the technique step by step, the key cues, and the effects and cautions he gives, with quizzes and spaced review. It follows his Light on Yoga in its own words, quotes him only briefly and says where, and is illustrated with photographs and drawings made for the course. It is not published, approved or endorsed by B.K.S. Iyengar, his family, his institute or the publishers of his books.

Learn needs a Yoga Guide account, and your progress is kept in it, as the Privacy Policy explains. The course is for your own study: please don't copy it wholesale or republish it.

6. What the Service is not

This matters, so it is in plain words.

We provide a noticeboard, scheduling tools and a course of study. People write listings and class details. We display them and provide the reservation and class management tools and the Learn course described in section 5.

Specifically:

Listings are written by the people who post them. Under US law, including 47 U.S.C. § 230 where it applies, we are not the publisher or speaker of information provided by another person. We also rely on the equivalent protections for intermediaries and hosting providers in other countries where they apply to us.

7. We do not check anyone. Please check for yourself.

We want to be blunt about this, because people get hurt when they assume otherwise.

We do not vet, verify, certify, background-check, interview, inspect, license, insure or endorse any person, business, listing, photograph, price, claim or qualification on this site.

Email verification confirms access to a mailbox. It does not verify a person's identity, qualifications or suitability to teach.

In particular, we do not check:

The appearance of a listing on yogaguide.us is not a recommendation, an endorsement, a certification, a warranty or a sign of quality. It means only that somebody typed it in and we have not yet removed it.

Before you hand over money, get on a plane, get on a mat, or let anyone put their hands on your body, do your own checking. Ask for certificates and check them with the issuing body. Ask for proof of insurance. Search for the person or business by name. Ask for references. Meet first. Pay by a method that gives you some recourse. Trust your instincts.

8. Posting a listing

8.1 What you give us

To post, you provide:

We also record the IP address the listing was posted from, to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.

8.2 The name you publish

The name you enter is displayed on the listing. You do not have to publish a full legal name — a first name or a business name is fine — but it must not be someone else's name, and it must not be chosen to mislead people about who you are or who you are connected to.

8.3 Contact details in the listing text

Your email address is never shown. Your phone number is shown only if you tick the box. If you type contact details into the body of the listing, they are public, and they can be scraped by others. That is your choice, but the reply form exists precisely so that you do not have to publish anything.

8.4 Photos

Photos are re-encoded when you upload them, and metadata embedded in the file (EXIF) — which can include GPS coordinates, camera details and timestamps — is stripped. That protects you from accidentally publishing your home location. It does not protect you from what is visible in the picture. Do not upload photographs of other people without their permission, and never of children.

8.5 Accuracy

Everything in your listing must be true, current and complete enough not to mislead. If a class is canceled, a job is filled or an item is sold, use your manage link to close or delete the listing.

8.6 The two tick boxes

There are two boxes on the post form, and they do different things.

Box 1 — Terms of Use (required). You must tick this to post. It means you accept these Terms. We record the time, the version of the Terms, and your IP address.

Box 2 — Occasional email from yogaguide.us (optional, and not ticked for you). This is separate, and you never have to tick it. Ticking it asks to receive non-essential email from us, as described in section 9.3. We then email a confirmation link to the address you gave, and your consent is complete only when the owner of that address confirms it — so nobody can sign someone else up. We record the time, the wording you were shown, your IP address, and when it was confirmed. Leaving it unticked does not affect your listing in any way.

Accepting the Terms does not give us permission to send you marketing. The two are deliberately kept apart. Only Box 2 does that.

9. Email we send you

This section is important. There are two different kinds of email, and they are governed by different rules.

9.1 Service email for listings and class accounts

When you post a listing, you are asking us to run it for you, and we cannot do that without emailing you. We call this service email. It is administrative and transactional. It is part of the Service you requested, not advertising.

Service email includes:

You cannot unsubscribe from listing service email while you have a live listing, because it is how that part of the Service functions. If you do not want it, close or delete your listing using your manage link, or email connect@yogaguide.us and ask us to delete it. Once we no longer hold a live listing for you, listing service email stops, except that we may still send you notices required by law or a notice of a change to these documents while we still hold a record relating to your listing.

Class booking notices are separate from listing email and marketing. To stop reminders for an upcoming reservation, cancel it in My bookings; we may still send its cancellation notice. Teachers can cancel an upcoming class from their dashboard. Signing out does not cancel classes or reservations. Contact connect@yogaguide.us about closing a class account or deleting its records.

Service email is never advertising. If a message from us is promoting something, it is marketing email, and it belongs in section 9.3 — not here. We will not relabel marketing as service email.

Emails about teachers you follow are neither. We send them only because you followed that teacher, they list the new classes that teacher has added, at most one a day for each teacher, and each has a link to stop following that works without signing in. Following a teacher does not opt you in to our marketing, and unsubscribing from our marketing does not end a follow.

9.2 Replies from readers

When someone uses the reply form on your listing, we email their message to you, with their address set as the reply-to, so you can answer them directly. We do not store the message or their address. See section 15.

9.3 Marketing email — only if you ticked Box 2

Marketing email is anything promotional: news about the site, features we think you might like, anything advertising-related, anything about sponsors or sponsored placements, and anything about paid features if we ever introduce them.

We send marketing email only to people who ticked the optional box and then confirmed it from the link we emailed them. Not to everyone who posts. Not to people who only replied to a listing. Not to people who once posted and did not tick the box.

Every marketing email carries a working unsubscribe link and our postal address. If you unsubscribe:

You can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing connect@yogaguide.us. Withdrawing consent is free, takes effect as soon as we can action it, and does not affect your listings or your access to the Service. It does not stop service email under section 9.1, which is separate.

If you are in Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Australia or anywhere else with a consent-based email law, this optional box is the express consent those laws require, and the unsubscribe mechanism is the one they require.

10. Your manage link

After you post a classified listing, we email you a private link containing a long random token. That link is your way to edit, renew, mark closed or sold, or delete that listing. Classified listings do not require an account or password. Class accounts use the separate email sign-in process described in section 5.

So:

11. How long listings last, and renewal

Listings expire automatically:

We send reminders before a listing expires. You can renew it from your manage link. An expired listing stops being shown to the public.

Past events. When you post an event, retreat or training, you can tick a box to keep it in past events once it's over. It then stays public, at its own address and on the past events page, with its photos, marked as over and with no way to reply, and it can appear on the schedule page of a teacher shown as running it. It stays until you untick the box or delete the listing with your manage link. It is still Your Content under section 14, the rules in section 12 still apply to it, and we may still remove it under section 13.

We may change these periods. If we do, the change applies to listings posted after the change, not retroactively to a listing already running.

12. Rules for content and conduct

You are responsible for everything you post, send through the reply form, or do on the site. You must keep it legal, honest and decent.

12.1 Post in the right place

Post in the correct section and the correct city. One listing per thing. Do not post the same listing in several cities, or several times in one city, to get more visibility. Do not post content that has nothing to do with yoga or the section you are posting in.

12.2 Do not post

12.3 Do not do

12.4 If you see something wrong

Use the flag button, or email connect@yogaguide.us. If you believe someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first. We are not an emergency service and we cannot intervene in real time.

13. Moderation, and our discretion

We may edit, refuse, hold, hide, delete or refuse to renew any listing, and block any person, at any time, at our sole discretion, with or without notice and with or without giving a reason. We do not have to act on any particular report, and choosing not to act on one report is not a promise about the next.

In practice:

If we remove your listing and you think we got it wrong, email us and say so. We will look again. We are not obliged to reinstate it.

Because some of this is automated, you can always ask for a human to review a decision about your listing, and we will do that within a reasonable time.

14. Your content, and the license you give us

14.1 You keep ownership

You keep all rights you already have in the text, photographs and other material you submit ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of it.

14.2 The license you grant us

By submitting Your Content, you grant YogaGuide.us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, cache, back up, reproduce, re-encode, resize, crop, reformat, adapt, translate, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and otherwise use Your Content, in whole or in part, in any media now known or later developed, for the purposes of:

This license is granted for the purposes above only. We are not going to sell your photographs as stock images or license your content to third parties as a product.

Sublicensing is limited to what those purposes need — for example, our hosting and email providers, and platforms where we promote the Service.

14.3 Editing

We may edit Your Content for formatting, length, spelling, correct section or city placement, and to remove material that breaches section 12. We do not have to.

14.4 When the license ends

The license ends when Your Content is removed from the Service, with these exceptions, which survive:

We do not control search engine caches or third-party copies of your listing. If a search engine still shows a removed listing, you may need to ask the search engine directly to refresh it.

14.5 What you promise us

By submitting Your Content, you represent and warrant that:

14.6 Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions about the Service, we can use them freely, without obligation to you and without payment. Please do not send us anything confidential.

15. Contacting a poster through the reply form

Readers contact posters through a relay form. You type your name, your email address and your message. We email it to the poster, with your email address as the reply-to, so the poster can answer you directly.

Three things follow from that:

  1. The poster gets your email address. That is the point of the form. Once they have it, what they do with it is between you and them, and is outside our control. Do not use the form if you do not want the poster to have your address.
  2. We do not store your message or your email address. We pass the message on and that is the end of our involvement. We cannot retrieve it for you, produce it in a dispute, or tell you whether it was read.
  3. The form is not for marketing. Using it to send advertising, recruitment pitches or spam is a breach of section 12.3, and we will block you.

We cannot guarantee that a message is delivered, read or answered. Posters are not obliged to reply.

16. Prices and currency conversion

Prices are optional. Where a poster has given one, it is shown in the currency the poster chose. That is the real price.

A reader can choose a display currency. When you do, the site also shows an approximate converted amount, worked out using exchange rates we fetch once a day from a third-party feed.

The conversion is an estimate and nothing more. It is not an offer, a quote or a guarantee. It will not match what your bank or card issuer charges, it does not include fees, spreads, taxes or duties, and the rate we used may be up to a day old or simply wrong, because we did not produce it. Always agree the price with the other person in the currency the transaction will actually happen in. We are not liable for any loss arising from a conversion shown on the site.

17. Dealing with other people: safety and risk

People on this site are strangers. Most of them are lovely. Some are not.

You deal with other users entirely at your own risk. We are not involved in, and take no responsibility for, any meeting, class, lesson, purchase, sale, hire, job, engagement, training, retreat, payment, travel arrangement or relationship that begins on this site.

Before you meet anyone:

You assume all risk of personal injury, illness, death, property damage, theft, fraud, financial loss and distress arising from your dealings with other users, from attending anything advertised here, and from acting on anything you read here. To the maximum extent the law allows, you release YogaGuide.us, its owner and anyone working on its behalf from all claims, demands and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with those dealings — known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected.

If you are in California, you expressly waive California Civil Code § 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." Where you live in a place with a similar rule, you waive that too, so far as the law allows.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — see section 24.

18. Health and physical activity

Yoga is physical activity. It carries a risk of injury.

yogaguide.us does not provide medical, physiotherapeutic, psychological or health advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as any of those things. Listings are written by the people who post them, and may contain claims that are wrong, exaggerated or unsafe.

Before starting or changing any exercise, breathing, fasting, dietary or wellness practice — and especially if you are pregnant, recently post-partum, recovering from injury or surgery, living with a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, glaucoma, osteoporosis, a joint or spinal condition, epilepsy, a mental health condition, or any other medical condition — talk to a qualified healthcare professional first.

Learn. Learn describes the postures as B.K.S. Iyengar teaches them, for study. It cannot see you, does not know your body or your health, and cannot correct you. Many of the postures are advanced, and some need years of preparation. Have a qualified teacher show you a posture before you try it, read the Hints in Learn's Library first, follow his cautions, and never attempt an advanced posture on your own. The effects the course reports are his claims, not ours, and none of them is medical advice or a promise of benefit to you.

Tell your teacher about injuries, conditions and pregnancy before class. You may decline any adjustment or hands-on contact, at any time, for any reason. Stop if something hurts.

If you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not use this site.

19. Third-party links and services

Listings and pages may link to other websites, booking systems, social media profiles, payment pages and services we do not control. We do not review, endorse or take responsibility for them, their content, their security, their privacy practices or anything you do there. Follow a link at your own risk, and read that site's own terms and privacy policy.

The Service uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check, on the post and reply forms. Your use of that check is also subject to Cloudflare's terms and privacy documentation.

We also use a third-party exchange rate feed, as described in section 16.

20. Advertising, sponsorship and future paid features

Today the Service is free, carries no advertising and has no paid features.

That may change. We may in future show advertising or sponsored placements on the site, and may introduce optional paid features. If we do:

We may also place our own promotional material on the site at any time.

21. Availability, and changes to the Service

We provide the Service on a best-efforts basis, free of charge, and we run it as a very small operation. There is no service level, no guaranteed uptime and no support commitment.

We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue the Service, or any section, city or feature, at any time. If we shut the Service down or close a section you have posted in, we will try to give reasonable notice by email so you can copy your content, but we cannot promise it.

We are not liable for downtime, data loss, lost or delayed email, listings that fail to publish, reminders that do not arrive, or manage links that end up in a spam folder.

22. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind.

We disclaim all warranties, express, implied and statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, and non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

Without limiting that, we do not warrant that:

Any material you download or obtain through the Service is obtained at your own risk. No advice or information you get from us, in any form, creates any warranty not expressly stated here.

This section, and section 23, do not apply to the extent the law does not allow them. See section 24.

23. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

(a) No indirect loss. Neither YogaGuide.us, nor its owner, nor anyone working on its behalf or supplying it, will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, anticipated savings, data or reputation, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if we were told such loss was possible.

(b) No liability for other people. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, content, conduct, statements, negligence, fraud or crimes of any other user, poster, reader, advertiser, employer, teacher, studio, seller, retreat organizer or third party, whether online or in person.

(c) No liability for what happens off the site. We are not liable for anything arising from a meeting, transaction, class, job, retreat, payment or relationship that began here and happened elsewhere, including personal injury, illness, death, assault, harassment, property damage, theft, non-delivery, non-payment or fraud.

(d) Cap. Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100). The Service is free, and this cap reflects that.

(e) Time limit. Where the law allows parties to agree a shorter limitation period, any claim you have against us arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms must be brought within one year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred. This does not apply where your local law forbids it, and it does not apply to consumers in the EEA or the UK.

24. Rights the law does not let us take away

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some places do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of sections 22 and 23 may not apply to you. Those sections apply only as far as the law that applies to you permits, and are read down to whatever is permitted rather than struck out.

In particular:

25. Your indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless YogaGuide.us, its owner and anyone working on its behalf from and against any claim, demand, proceeding, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, cost and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

We may take over the defense of any matter covered by this indemnity at your expense, and if we do, you will cooperate with us. You may not settle anything in a way that admits fault on our part or imposes any obligation on us without our written consent.

If you are a consumer, this indemnity applies only to the extent your conduct was wrongful, and only to the extent the law of your country allows it. It does not apply to loss caused by us.

26. Suspension, blocking and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and delete your classified listings using your manage link. Cancel upcoming reservations in My bookings, or upcoming classes in your teacher dashboard. To request deletion of a class account or its records, email connect@yogaguide.us from your account address.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, remove your listings, and block your email address or IP address, at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms, if we are required to by law, if we think it is necessary to protect other users or us, or for any other reason we consider sufficient.

If we block you, do not come back under another email address, another IP address or a proxy. Doing so is a further breach.

On termination, sections 6, 7, 14.2 (to the extent stated in 14.4), 14.5, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29 and 30 survive.

27. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. We have to be able to, because the law changes, the Service changes, and problems arise that we have not thought of.

When we do:

If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms, where the law allows continued use to count as acceptance. In some countries it does not, and in those countries we will rely on the change only to the extent the law permits, or ask you to accept it again.

If you do not accept a change, stop using the Service and delete your listings using your manage link before the change takes effect. If you cannot, email connect@yogaguide.us and we will delete them for you.

A change never applies retroactively to a dispute that has already arisen between us. The version of the Terms you accepted when you posted governs that listing until a change takes effect in accordance with this section.

28. If something goes wrong: talk to us first

Before starting any legal proceeding, please email connect@yogaguide.us with the subject line "Dispute", and tell us:

We will acknowledge within 7 days and try to resolve it with you within 30 days of receiving your email. We commit to engaging with you honestly and in good faith, and we ask the same. Most problems on a site like this are fixable in an email or two.

Neither of us may start proceedings about a dispute until this 30-day period has passed — except that either of us may at any time:

If you are an EU consumer, you may also be able to use an alternative dispute resolution body in your country, and you can ask your national consumer center for help. (The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed in July 2025, so it is no longer an option.) We are not obliged to use any particular ADR body, and at present we do not subscribe to one.

This section does not shorten or replace any limitation period, and using it does not waive any right either of us has.

29. Governing law, and where disputes are heard

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service, are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Subject to sections 28 and 29.1, the state courts located in Lee County, Mississippi, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we each consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

29.1 Consumers keep their home rights

This is a genuine carve-out, and we mean it.

If you are a consumer — that is, you are using the Service for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession — then:

29.2 Jury trial and class actions

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and only where permitted:

This section 29.2 does not apply to you if you are a consumer resident in the EEA, the UK, Australia, or anywhere else whose law does not permit it, and it does not apply to any claim for public injunctive relief where the law preserves it. If any part of section 29.2 is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that part does not apply to that claim, and the rest of these Terms still stands.

We have not included binding arbitration. If we add it in future, we will do so only by a change notified under section 27, and we will give you a clear and genuine way to opt out of it.

30. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any notices we publish on the site, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace anything said or written before. This does not exclude liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and it does not affect any statutory right you have as a consumer.

Severability. If any provision is held invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable, or if that is not possible, it is severed. The rest of the Terms continues in force.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, or delay in doing so, that is not a waiver. A waiver is only effective if we give it in writing, and it applies only to the instance and the provision it names.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or any rights under them, without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer them, in whole or in part, to an affiliate, or in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets or of the Service. If you are a consumer and an assignment would reduce your rights, we will tell you first and you may stop using the Service and delete your listings.

No partnership or agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, employment or fiduciary relationship between you and us.

No third-party beneficiaries. Except for our owner, members, managers, officers, contractors and agents, who may rely on sections 17, 22, 23 and 25, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms. Under the UK Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, no third party may enforce them except as stated.

Events outside our control. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something beyond our reasonable control, including outages at our hosting or email providers, network failures, cyber attacks, natural events, illness, power cuts, government action, or the failure of any third-party service the Service depends on.

Notices. We give you notice by email to the address on file for your listing and/or by publishing it on the site. You give us notice by email to connect@yogaguide.us. A notice by email is treated as received on the day it is sent, unless it bounces.

Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only, and the English version governs, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.

Headings. Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation. "Including" means "including without limitation".

31. Copyright: notice and takedown (DMCA)

We respect copyright, and we respond to proper notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512.

31.1 Designated agent

Send copyright notices to our designated agent:

Copyright Agent, YogaGuide.us
200 Main Street
Verona, MS 38879
United States of America
Email: connect@yogaguide.us (subject line: "DMCA Notice")

Please use this address for copyright notices only. Other messages sent here may not get a reply.

31.2 What a notice must contain

To be effective, your written notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act for them.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, or a representative list if there are several.
  3. Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — please give the full URL of the listing.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Misrepresentation has consequences. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. If you are not sure whether the use is infringing, take advice before sending a notice.

31.3 What we do

If your notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the material expeditiously, and we will make a reasonable attempt to tell the person who posted it, and to pass them a copy of the notice.

31.4 Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material removed, and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for the Northern District of Mississippi, and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.

31.5 Repeat infringers

We terminate the access of, and block, people who repeatedly infringe copyright. This is our repeat infringer policy and we apply it in appropriate circumstances.

31.6 Trademark and other rights

For trademark complaints, defamation, privacy complaints, or notices under the law of another country — including the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act, or your national equivalent — email connect@yogaguide.us with full details and the URL. We will look at it.
